Together we Fly - a poem of love

Together we Fly

Floating and flying, my kind all around,

Caught up in the haze of flight without sound.

So crowded, so busy, not once looking down,

Wrapped up in the comfort of this little town.

But then something new, something bright something loud,

Awakening something that I’d never found.

Another was flying so near yet so far,

And so this contentment forever would mar.

Of opportunities only of those of another,

Now open to me, of which I can’t smother.

This flying creature so different to me,

Akin in some form, to this I now see.

A new direction was where it would lead,

Leaving behind, those of my breed.

Fear and excitement, discomfort, resolute,

These mixing emotions, I will salute.

Nostalgia strikes, at times, incomplete,

Never has it been said it would be an easy feat.

Floating and flying, combating the storms,

Wings sometimes broken, other times torn.

Together we fly, we float and we soar,

No matter what obstacles come to the fore.

Together we move, together we’ll be,

Gathering stories, together as we.
